TWSBI is a Taiwanese brand that originates from OEM manufacturer Ta Shin Precision, which has over 40 years of plastics and metals manufacturing experience. With this valuable experience and knowledge, and a mission to inspire and recapture the romanticism of art and literature, TWSBI creates high-quality, precise writing instruments.

TWSBI's name comes from "San Wen Tong", which means "Hall of Three Cultures" in Chinese ("Wen" means "language" and "culture"). The phrase also alludes to the Hall of the Three Rare Treasures, a memorial to three great masterpieces of Chinese calligraphy. The initials for "San Wen Tong" were reversed to become "TWS," and "Bi", which means "writing instruments," was added to the end.
