This pen is great, until the main part unscrews and is lost forever. “Backpacker” may be a little bit lofty for this pen as I had it attached to my work badge for only a few days when I looked down and noticed that half the pen was gone. It had unscrewed at some point while I was walking around. I only got to use it once before this happened (the day a received it and tested it out). So sad :( Definitely keep it in a bag or pocket and not dangling from the key ring, even if that seems like what it’s made for.

I love the convenience of the backpacker key ring, and, of course, the reliability of the Fisher Space Pen! LOVE the orange!

Beautiful great pen I love it.

The pen is a great portable fella that I use a spring hook around the ring with to attach the pen to my belt loop, that way I can have a writing device wherever I go. The two pieces snap together pretty snugly, even after over 6 months of use so far. Both parts are made of metal so it doesn't feel like anything has been cheapped out on.

The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the writing quality, at least compared to other pens I've used (a lot of pilot pens). It will write on a lot of surfaces but it writes the best on semi-soft to hard surfaces, on soft surfaces (like on 20 sheets of paper) it becomes harder to get a solid lines sometimes. But in general the lines when writing won't be as dark as other pens from Pilot, Uni or Pentel. I've gotten used to it now but the line definition is something to be wary of when writing with this pen on the usual, but it still gets the job done, just a detail peeve.

I knew they write well, and it does, but the color caught my eye and is easy to spot. I carry my black one, now several years old, in my tote bag. Either one always at hand.
