Another cool feature you might not know about is our Comparison Tool: it lets you pick out the products you’re interested in and compare their features side by side. It's particularly great for comparing fountain pen inks!

Product Categories

You can find Product Type and Product Line categories on JetPens.

Our site is organized by categories: Product Type and Product Line. Product Type categories are based on the type of product. For example, you can find Gel Pens under Pens, and Retractable Gel Pens under Gel Pens. These are categories you see in the menu. You can also access them in the sidebar and at the bottom of category pages.

Product Line categories are based on the brand. You can find these at the bottom of the category pages under Product Type categories. For example, if you click into Pilot Gel Pens, you can find all Pilot Gel Pens. Scroll to the bottom of the Pilot Gel Pens category and you will see different Pilot gel pen lines, like the FriXion, G2, and more.

Brands

Find Notable Products on certain brands' pages.

The Brands page shows all of the brands we carry in alphabetical order. Once you click into a brand, you will find it organized by Product Type and then Product Lines. Some brand pages have a section called Notable Products. This points to important Product Lines under the brand that appear across different Product Type categories. As an example, the Pilot Metropolitan Series includes fountain pens, gel pens, and mechanical pencils.

Find collections that are themed for easier shopping.

We put together collections that are themed for easier shopping. You can shop by Price, Recipient, Material, Color, Staff Picks, and more. We also have collections for art supplies, calligraphy & specialty tools, and unique stationery, and more.

Our writers are constantly testing products and creating guides to help you choose the best writing instrument and paper for your needs. You’ll find our latest guides at the top of the page. If you’re completely new to stationery, we suggest starting with our Beginners’ Guides. If you’re curious about a certain topic, use the search bar or click through the categories.

Some guides have accompanying videos to show the products in action. Visit our YouTube channel for more videos and subscribe if you like what you see!

You can filter using the sidebar to pick out certain features.

When you click into a category, you’ll see a sidebar with features that you can filter based on what characteristics you’re looking for, like ink color, ink composition, body material, weight, and more. You will see different features under different categories.

The Comparison view lets you pick products to compare.

At the top of the sidebar, you will see a Comparison Tool button (gray). When you click this button, the page will shift to the Comparison view with Add to Comparison buttons (gray) under each product. Click the buttons for the products you’re interested in and once you’re done, click the “View Full Comparison” link in the pop up to see all of the features side by side.

On the Compare Products page, you can collapse or reorder the products by clicking the Collapse/Reorder button (yellow). To remove a product, just click the red “x” in the corner of the product’s image. You can see previous product comparisons and even popular comparisons by clicking the third and fourth tabs, respectively. We find the ink comparisons particularly satisfying because you see swatches, tests, and writing samples individually or altogether. Check out this black ink comparison to see it in action!

Besides the Sidebar, you can find this tool on product pages or go directly from the Menu under Shop By.
